Honda conducted the world premiere of a prototype of Honda Brio, the new compact car developed for Asian markets and scheduled to be introduced in Thailand and India in 2011, at the Thailand International Motor Expo. Honda Brio Prototype is being developed as a commuter vehicle which is easy to use even in urban areas, the Honda Brio has a length of 3,610mm, width of 1,680mm and height of 1,475 mm, while ensuring enough cabin space achieved by highly efficient packaging. For the Indian model that is scheduled to be introduced within 2011, local customer needs for a small car will be reflected to the specifications and local content will be increased to create a model that achieves a good balance between vehicle performance and price (Rs. 5 lakhs).
Although late, Honda has made entry in the Indian hatchback market and that too with nothing less that best. Honda Brio bagged great applaud from viewers when it was first displayed at the New Delhi Auto Expo and there started the story of its popularity. Since then Honda Brio is the most awaited model from the Honda empire. The car has its hint even in the Bangkok Motor Show where the viewers agreed that this is one of its kind and have never been seen a model like this in Honda store.
2CV concept is what Honda Brio is built on and with that it has simply outstanding crease on its body and a forward inclined stance. This styling is something you will go crazy for and to increase its demand exponentially, Honda has introduced striking color options to choose from.
The car's rear is the main selling feature of the car. Honda Brio is given back lights at a lower end and the rear is all made with glass. This concept of all glass back is something rarely seen in the segment and that what makes its looks go unique in market. If you ever see a Honda Brio driving in front of you, you will surely end up admiring those little detailing done with its back glass with smoked out effect and low lined lamps.
The first hatchback from Honda, Honda Brio is powered by 1.2-litre Honda Jazz engine which is planned to get 1 litre motor in the near future. The wonderful car gives a displacement of 1198 cc which is one of the best figure to have in terms of engine in the hatchback segment. The engine used in Honda Brio runs on petrol and can give a peak power of 89 Bhp at 6200 rpm and beating torque of 110 Nm at 4800 rpm.
The length of the car measures 3.6 metres which assures roomy interior and decent boot space. With this size in car, the control over drive also becomes interesting and you can rely on it after the Honda Jazz's driving experience. With its upmarket feature, Honda Brio makes a unique identity in market and will surely be a hit in the Indian market
