LandRover to Unveil Range Rover E Hybrid

2012 Range Rover E Plug-In Hybrid

Land Rover will launch an ultra low emission diesel-electric plug-in hybrid version of the Range Rover Sport at next month’s Geneva motor show.Dubbed Range_e, the prototype is powered by a 3.0-litre TDV6 engine and an unspecified electric motor and battery pack mated to an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission.
The all-wheel-drive model is capable of travelling up to 32.1 kilometers on electric power alone, a major contribution to its low emission figure. It has a top speed of 120mph. The total combined driving range of the E Hybrid will be close to 690 miles or 1104 kms which is nothing short as it clearly highlights not just the electric motor but the outstanding efficiency at which the diesel engine will perform.
