2011 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Review

Even those who do not know much about cars combine the three-pointed star with excellent engineering and superb construction. While the quality of Mercedes-Benz step at the beginning of the decade (largely due to the reliability of electronics), its current offer to return to the glory of enterprise-wide. A good example is the 2011 Mercedes-Benz C-Class, which provides much of the luxury, performance and refinement of its large sedan sibling, but in a more affordable.
 

Within the range of the C-Class buyers can choose between three very different versions of the compact sedans. The C300 Luxury has a luxury ride, quiet and with little evidence of such classics as the traditional Mercedes grille with its hood ornament stand. Premium Package adds auto-dimming my mirrors, home of 10 pieces of guide, driver power lumbar support, driver memory functions, power-adjustable steering wheel, automatic wipers, heated front seats, satellite TV, power rear sunshade and a split-folding rear seat. Lighting package adds xenon headlights active washers, LED headlights (standard on the Sport version), and LED taillights.

Sport is essentially a C300 with the C350 Sport Premium Package I, a larger V6 engine and mottled black cut maple. The C63 AMG is equipped with the same, but the performance raises the bar considerably with a V8 engine, firmer suspension, bigger brakes, 18 inch AMG wheels, sports interior and exterior signs, leather sports seats and AMG aluminum cams .

Choose the package you get COMAND multimedia interface electronics, hard drive-based navigation system (with traffic updates in real time), a six-CD changer, iPod interface, 6 GB of digital music storage and a large pop-up screen. Seats packages available on the C63 AMG adds memory seats forward, power-adjustable leather steering wheel and upgraded. The development package available on the C63 AMG adds 30 more horsepower, upgraded brakes, limited slip differential, a track calibration of the suspension, increased top speed and / leather steering wheel faux suede.

This year brings a new option for prepaid service (not available in C63, even), which covers the maintenance requirements of 3 years or 30 000 miles, whichever comes first. Other stand-alone options include 18-inch wheels, panoramic sunroof (not available in C63), Rear View Camera (requires a multimedia package), leather upholstery, heated front seats, keyless ignition / entry, satellite, and iPod connection Harman Kardon surround a premium stereo.
 

Engines and performance

The 2011 Mercedes-Benz C300 is powered by a 3.0-liter V6 engine that produces 228 hp and 221 lb-ft of torque. A seven-speed automatic transmission is standard on the C300 Luxury and C300 Sport option, which comes standard with a six-speed manual transmission. Rear-wheel drive is standard and all-wheel drive is optional.

The test performance, the C300 Sport with manual transmission has increased from zero to 60 mph in 7.3 seconds. Fuel economy is EPA-estimated 18 mpg city/26 mpg highway and 21 mpg combined with rear wheel drive. All-wheel drive drops those estimates to 18/25/20.

C350 Sport gets a 3.5-liter V6 good for 268 hp and 258 Nm of torque. Rear-wheel drive and seven-speed automatic is available only to the combo. C350 00-60 sprint in 6.3 seconds, which is off the pace of strong competitors, but still very fast. Estimated fuel economy is 17/25/20.

The C63 AMG receives a beefy V8 that delivers 451 6.2 liters and 443 hp lb-ft of torque to the rear wheels via a seven-speed automatic transmission with three modes of travel. In tests, the C63 has reached 60 mph in just 4.4 seconds. Fuel economy estimates 19/12/15.

Security


2011 Mercedes-Benz C-Class comes standard with front side airbags, curtain airbags in the middle, front seat-mounted side airbags in the basin, driver knee airbag, active front head restraints, stability control, traction control and adaptive antilock brakes (a feature of the brake assist, brake drying, pre-pressure and hill-start assist). Rear side airbags are optional.

In government crash tests, the C-Class has received four out of five stars for frontal impact and five stars for front and rear. In tests by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, Class C has received the highest scores, including a "Good" for frontal offset side impact and strength tests on the roof.
 

Interior Design and Special Features

Just pull the handle of the door makes you feel as if you opened the once impenetrable. C-Class interior is well done, but its atmosphere and strong angular design can convey a feeling less luxurious. Selection of a cut tree or two shades of color, at least bring a small amount of heat.

The control is easy in this car class, Mercedes' COMAND electronics interface is quite easy to use. The iPod interface is particularly user-friendly.

A straight line, 2011 Mercedes-Benz C300 and C350 did not set any records.
