Audi (officially today) picked up pieces of all-new 2012 A6 which will take the latest generation of the BMW 5-Series and Mercedes-Benz E-Class executive saloon. Audi's new A6 is set to make market debut in early 2011 and will be available at launch with four-cylinder engine and V6 petrol and diesel, and then, with a hybrid powertrain is claimed to combine the power of a V6 with the fuel efficiency four-cylinder unit.
With Audi continue the "one-style-fits-all" approach to design, not much to add about automobile exterior and interior work that has not already said in our post A7 Sportback. Although the most accurate description of the new A6 is the A7 with the boot, we will not agree with for those of you waving "A4 bigger" or "smaller A8" banner.
Moving to the more technical aspects of the new Audi A6, sedan is 4.92 meters (16:14 ft) long and 1.87 meters (6.14 ft) wide, but only 1.46 meters (4.79 ft) high. It has a luggage capacity of 530 liters (18.72 cubic feet)
Hybrid system's compact lithium-ion battery that provides 1.3 kWh nominal power and generate 39 kW stored in the trunk.
Audi A6 says hybrids can reach speeds of up to 100 km / h (62 mph) in pure electric, but not for a long time at a constant speed of 60 km / h (37 mph) range in this mode is limited to 3 km. It also can operate with a combustion engine alone or in hybrid mode.
In terms of performance, the Hybrid A6 accelerates from zero to 100 km / h (62mph) in 7.3 seconds and tops out at 238 km / h (148 mph), when returning fuel consumption average of 6.2 liters per 100 km (37.9 U.S. mpg) and CO2 emissions level of 142 grams per km (228.53 g / mile).
A more practical model Avant (Audi speak for the estate / station wagon), and S6 are stronger and maybe a RS6 models gradually be incorporated into the range.
